Chelsea are keen on wrapping up the signing of highly-rated teenager Bertrand Traore, who is currently on trial with the London club, the Mail Online understands.
The Burkinabe midfielder has impressed in the Blues pre-season tour of Asia, scoring in two of their three matches and impressing his teammates.
The 17 year old has been deployed on both wings and played in the number 1o role on tour, and has demonstrated great strength and pace, leading to comparisons with Arsenal midfielder Abu Diaby, who like Traore, came through at French side Auxerre.
He is currently without a club, and cannot be offered a full contract by Chelsea until he turns eighteen on September 6th, though there are fears that they may not be able to obtain a work permit for him, leaving other clubs open to strike a deal.
Traore has eight international caps, and became one of the youngest players to feature in the Africa Cup of Nations last year, when came on as a substitute in a 2-1 defeat to Sudan.
