According to The Guardian, Chelsea are in talks with CSKA about signing Aleksandr Golovin.
Having impressed for the host nation in this year’s World Cup, Golovin has become a target for Chelsea as they look to make him their first signing of the summer. He will have a chance to impress further as Russia play Spain in the round of 16 on Sunday.
Arsenal, Juventus and Barcelona have all been linked with a move for Golovin recently, but Chelsea have apparently jumped to the front of the queue by taking concrete steps and opening negotiations with the Russian club, with the deal likely to be finalized when his involvement at the World Cup comes to an end.
CSKA reportedly want around £27million for his services as his contract has three more years left to run, and the London Blues are likely to accept that price as they believe the 22-year-old attacking midfielder would make an instant impact in the Premier League.
