Chelsea are in talks with Sevilla over the potential transfer of Jules Kounde, after agreeing a deal that should see Kurt Zouma seal a move to West Ham, according to Sky Sports.
The priorities for this summer for Chelsea have been a striker and a central defender. They’ve already signed Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan for a reported fee of €115 million, and they’re now working on strengthening the back line with the acquisition of Kounde.
The talks between the two clubs are progressing well, and the London Blues are hopeful of concluding the business before Tuesday. If all goes to plan, Chelsea will pay Sevilla a fee of £43m for the 22-year-old defender.
Despite the ongoing talks, Kounde played the full 90 minutes in both La Liga matches for Sevilla so far, triumphs at home against Rayo Vallecano and away to Getafe. Overall, the versatile defender has made 91 appearances in just over two years with the Spanish club.
