According to Sky Sports, Chelsea are very interested in signing Inter Milan midfielder Matias Vecino. The 26-year-old has been with the club since 2017 after making the switch from Fiorentina, and in that time he’s made a name for himself as an effective player in the middle of the park.
Still, this is a move that some will consider to have come out of nowhere, especially given that the Blues have supposedly been prioritising other positions as of late. Vecino, who is a Uruguayan international, will be hoping to slot straight into the first team if this move does indeed go through – and it’ll be interesting to see whether or not the Blues will accommodate that.
Given that the deal could be around £32 million, due to that being the fee Inter want Chelsea to pay, it’s not hard to imagine him being the focal point of the midfield at Stamford Bridge.
