Premier League giants Chelsea are hot on the trail of Hoffenheim defender Niklas Sule, according to the player’s official representative.
The 21-year-old has emerged as one of Bundesliga’s hottest prospects and he made six appearances for Germany as they were beaten in the final of the 2016 Summer Olympics.
Sule was subsequently rewarded with his first senior call-up, starting the friendly clash with Finland, and this was undoubtedly an eventful summer for the central defender.
The highly rated youngster also had a chance to move to Chelsea in the summer transfer window, but he rejected the opportunity.
“Yes, the interest was there. And the English (Chelsea) have made it clear that their interest was valid next year as well,” Sule’s agent told German media outlet Sport Bild.
The Blues reportedly offered €30 million for the talented footballer before ultimately turning their attention to former player David Luiz.
Niklas Sule has spent his entire career up to date at Hoffenheim and he is clearly not thinking about leaving at the moment.
