Chelsea are interested in signing Ronald Araujo from Barcelona, according to Sport. It has been reported that Premier League giants Chelsea are ready to make their move for the 22-year-old central defender in the summer of 2022 when he will have just one year left on his contract, as things stand.
Araujo joined Barcelona from Boston River in 2018 and has now established himself as an important figure in the first team. The Uruguay international centre-back has made five starts and five substitute appearances in La Liga so far this season, scoring one goal in the process.
The youngster has also made three starts and one substitute appearance in the Champions League for Barcelona this season. Antonio Rudiger is out of contract at Chelsea at the end of the season, and maybe the defending European champions have identified Araujo as his replacement.
