Chelsea are interested in signing Raphael Varane from Real Madrid in the summer of 2021, according to Marca. Varane is out of contract at the Spanish and European giants in the summer of 2022, and the France international central defender may not willing to put pen to paper on a new deal.
Defending Spanish champions Madrid could be forced to sell Varane in the summer of 2021, as they run the risk of losing him on a free at the end of next season. Premier League champions Chelsea are among the clubs who are reported to be interested in the Frenchman. Juventus are also reportedly keen.
Varane has scored two goals in 21 La Liga matches for Madrid so far this season, according to WhoScored. The 2018 World Cup winner with France has also played six times in the Champions League for Zinedine Zidane’s side so far this campaign, according to WhoScored.
