Chelsea interested in Sankoh

According to a recent report from Calciomercato, Chelsea have entered the race to try and sign Stoke City youngster Mohamed Sankoh. The 16-year-old sensation is considered to be one of the most exciting teenage prospects in the Championship, but if the Blues are serious about securing his signature, they’ll have to work for it.

One thing that people cannot deny when it comes to Frank Lampard’s tenure as manager is that he’s been giving young players a chance to shine in the first team. While someone like Sankoh probably wouldn’t go straight into the starting XI, he’s the kind of talent that they could nurture and bring up through the youth system for a few years.

Lampard is quite clearly considering his long term options with the club, and that’s going to serve as music to the ears of fans around the world. He knows what kind of team he wants to build, and he isn’t afraid to do it.
