Chelsea join race for Bale

Premier League leaders Chelsea are the latest side to be linked with a move for Gareth Bale, according to the Express.

The Wales international moved to Real Madrid for a world record transfer fee last summer, and has impressed in La Liga making fifty-eight appearances in all competitions, scoring twenty-eight goals.

He scored in the final victories in both the Copa del Rey and the Champions League while his five in eight league games so far this campaign has helped Carlo Ancelotti’s men to the top of the table.

However, he is competing for a starting berth with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Toni Kross, James Rodrgiuez and Luca Modric, and could look to move to further guarantee a first team spot.

Manchester United have also been linked with a move for the former Tottenham Hotspur man, who was the only British player to be named on the shortlist for the Ballon d’Or, which was released last month.
