Chelsea join race to sign Baines

The Independent is reporting that Chelsea have joined Manchester United and Paris Saint Germain in the race to sign Everton left-back Leighton Baines.

The England international is rated at £15 million by his current employers, but it is thought that they will do all they can to keep him in the January and summer transfer window.

He is only ever enhancing his reputation as one of the best full-backs in the world and he is just what you want in that position in the modern game.

Baines of course prides himself on defending, which he makes look easy, but it is his forward play that makes him one of the best around. He is able to provide countless amounts of chances for his team-mates and even chips in with a goal or two.

The Everton man is also a deal-ball specialist.

This is why these three giants in the European game are looking to secure his services. Chelsea and Manchester United seem to lead the way as he would surly like to stay in the English Premier League.

However, PSG are able to offer a bumper deal and Baines could be tempted by Ligue 1 football.

Everton might receive some offers in January that they cannot turn down.

David Villa will be a bad investment for Chelsea, no more Benayouns, Pizarros , Kalous. We need young hungry players. Everyone wants Chelsea money, trying to sell players in the down of their careers. Villa is a problem for Barza, let them find the solution, don’t mess with Chelsea.
