Chelsea are planning to pull out all the stops as the look to secure the services of Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa for next season, the Metro understands.
Blues manager Jose Mourinho is on the lookout for a new forward and has made the 25 year old, who is behind only Cristiano Ronaldo in the La Liga scoring charts this season, his number one target.
Costa, who made his debut for Spain in their 1-0 win over Italy earlier this month, has scored twenty-one goals in twenty-six league appearances for Diego Simeone’s side so far this season.
He has also added another seven in the Champions League, where Atleti booked their place in the quarter finals with a 4-1 win over AC Milan on Tuesday evening, winning the tie 5-1 on aggregate.
Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain have also been linked with a move the Brazil-born striker, though the Premier League leaders are confident they can strike a deal ahead of the World Cup.
