Chelsea keen on Drinkwater deal

Chelsea are readying a £25m bid for Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater, according to the Mail Online.

Blues boss Antonio Conte is looking to bring in further reinforcements before the transfer window slams shut in two weeks time and has identified the former Manchester United man as a potential target.

The reigning Premier League champions are also willing to include add-ons in their offer for the three-time England international though the Foxes are holding out for a fee closer to £40m.

Drinkwater moved to the King Power Stadium in the summer of 2012 and has since racked up two hundred and eighteen appearances in all competitions, scoring fourteen goals.

He was named the East Midlands outfit’s Player of the Year in 2014 while he played a key role as they won the Premier League title in 2016, featuring in all but three of their games en route to lifting the trophy.
