Premier League holders Chelsea are considering a January bid for Troyes goalkeeper Paul Bernardoni, according to Le 10 Sport.
The 18-year-old shot-stopper is enjoying a breakthrough season in French Ligue 1, having started ten league fixtures this season.
Despite his fragile age, Bernardoni is now the number one goalkeeper at Troyes, the team that sit at rock bottom in the league standings.
Several top sides have already expressed their interest in the youngster’s services, and it is believed that Chelsea are in pole position to secure his signature.
Namely, the Blues plan to purchase Bernardoni in January, but at the same time allow him to remain at Troyes until the end of the season and continue to gain valuable first team experience.
Premier League high flyers Watford have also contacted the Ligue 1 strugglers with regards to their young protege, but they do not seem prepared to allow the talented footballer to remain at the club until the summer if they were to win the race for his signature.
