Chelsea are keen on securing a deal for Marseille’s Giannelli Imbula, according to the Metro.
The Blues have been monitoring the 22 year old over the past two seasons, and original became interested while he was at his first club, Ligue 1 outfit Guingamp.
He moved to the Stade Velodrome in the summer of 2013 and has since racked up seventy-one appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring three goals.
Internationally, the Belgium born defensive midfielder has been capped seven times for France’s U21s, having also made four appearances for their U20s.
The Blues are set to face competition from Champions League semi-finalists Juventus in the race to secure his services, with the Italian side sending scouts to watch the player in recent months.
