Chelsea are said to be looking towards talented Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga as a replacement for wantaway Belgium shot stopper Thibaut Courtois, Spanish radio station Cadena Ser reports.
Courtois has reportedly held a talk with Maurizio Sarri and informed him hi wished to leave Stamford Bridge and return to Spain to be closer to his children. With Belgium international poised to join Real Madrid and the English transfer window closing on Thursday, Chelsea need to act fast and find a proper replacement.
Maurizio Sarri is said to have identified his personal long-term target Kepa Arrizabaga a number one target. The 23-year-old goalkeeping talent had been linked with a move to Napoli when Sarri was in charge of the Partenopei and is now back on the Italian’s radar.
Kepa signed a new contract with Athletic Bilbao this January and is on a €80 million release clause which is more than what Chelsea appear to be willing to pay.
