Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport claims that Chelsea are considering a summer bid for AS Roma defender Kostas Manolas.
New Blues manager Antonio Conte will be doing plenty of shopping in Serie A this summer, with Gonzalo Higuain, Radja Nainggolan and Antonio Rudiger some of his targets.
But, recent reports suggest that the current Italy boss has also set his sights on AS Roma hotshot Kostas Manolas.
The Greek defender has largely impressed since joining the Giallorossi from Olympiakos, and he has been repeatedly linked with a Stadio Olimpico exit.
However, besides the fact that AS Roma officials regard him as a key member of the side, they are also not ready to cash in on him this summer due to the fact that if they were to do so, his former club would be entitled to a large percentage of the transfer fee.
This is why Chelsea will probably have to look elsewhere in their search for the successor to John Terry.
