Premier League giants Chelsea are hot on the trail of Paris Saint-Germain defender Presnel Kimpembe, according to L’Equipe.
The Blues have been keeping close tabs on the 21-year-old for quite some time and they were seriously thinking about bringing him to Stamford Bridge on transfer deadline day.
Chelsea scouts watched the youngster in action as PSG were beaten by Monaco last weekend, but even though he produced a very good performance, they opted against making a move.
Namely, the Blues manager Antonio Conte wanted someone with more top flight experience and eventually decided to sign his defensive partner David Luiz.
Nevertheless, chances are that Chelsea will continue to monitor the performances of one of France’s hottest prospects and they could come back for him either in January or next summer.
Kimpembe has so far made 10 league performances for the Saints, but he started each of three Ligue 1 fixtures this season.
