Premier League leaders Chelsea are considering a summer move for Southampton starlet Sam Gallagher, according to the Metro.
The eighteen year old, who is one of a number of graduates from the Saints’ academy to grace to English top flight this season, netted his first league goal in Saturday’s 4-2 win over Norwich City, alerting a number of top clubs to his potential.
Chelsea have already been strongly linked for Gallagher’s teammate Luke Shaw, while club captain Adam Lallana and defender Callum Chambers are also likely to approached by rival clubs when the transfer window reopens at the end of the season.
Arsenal duo Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also cut their teeth in the South Coast club’s famed youth set-up, along with Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale, who last summer became the world’s most expensive footballer.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side travel to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon and Gallagher is priced at 3/1 to score at any time.
