Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas is pondering a move for Manchester City winger Adam Johnson, Manchester Evening News report.
The Portuguese manager recently stated that he planned to use 4-3-3 formation at Chelsea and he is looking to add another winger to the squad.
Villas-Boas is reportedly keen on England international Adam Johnson and is ready to test City’s resolve with a formal bid.
The 24-year-old winger had a somewhat slow start to his career at Eastlands following the £8 million move for Middlesbrough and Roberto Mancini could decide to cash in on him.
The Italian is in desperate need for new signings and he could raise some cash by selling his own players.
However, after Adam Johnson showed a lot of improvement in the final stage of last season, City chiefs may not be too keen on letting him go.
