Leicester City could lose Ben Chillwell very soon and for now it looks like Chelsea are the prime candidates to land the Englishman. The left-back has been playing very well for the Foxes and some of the biggest clubs in the country were mentioned in the conversation of potentially wanting to buy the player.
Chelsea and Manchester City were the ones that were thought of as the teams leading the race, but it looks right now like the London club could be closer. The reason for that is that Frank Lampard is not quite sure what to do with Marcos Alonso and if the Spaniard was to leave, then that would mean Chillwell would be much needed. The Blues might be halfway through their transfer ban, but next summer they will be allowed to sign players.
Man City, on the other hand, are not thought to be willing to spend big money on new players, especially not at left-back. They could be signing a new centre-back due to injury problems, but Chillwell does not seem to be their primary target.
