Chelsea are interested in signing Matt O’Riley from Celtic in the summer transfer window, according to The Scottish Sun. The report has claimed that Southampton are also keen on O’Riley, while Crystal Palace are also keeping tabs on the situation of the 23-year-old Denmark international midfielder.
O’Riley has been on the books of Celtic since 2022 when he joined from Milton Keynes Dons. The former Fulham midfielder has been superb for the Hoops and has established himself as one of the best players for the Glasgow giants. O’Riley scored 18 goals and gave 13 assists in 37 Scottish Premiership matches for the Hoops last season.
The Scottish Sun has claimed that Celtic are looking at O’Riley as a potential replacement for Conor Gallagher. The England international midfielder has been linked with a move away from the Hoops. The report has noted that Southampton have had a bid of £14 million for the midfielder already turned down.
