Celtic have made a bid for Chelsea attacking midfielder Ross Barkley to sign him in the summer transfer window, according to Football Insider. The report has claimed that Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has given the green light for the defending Scottish Premiership champions to make a swoop for the former Everton star.
The Hoops want to sign Barkley on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea in the summer transfer window. The 28-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea, who are willing to offload the English attacking midfielder this summer. The former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners have told Barkley that he is free to go.
Celtic reclaimed the Scottish Premiership title from bitter Old Firm rivals Rangers last season and will be determined to clinch the championship again this campaign. The Bhoys will also play in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League this season as well.
