Chelsea monitor Aubameyang

According to a recent report from ESPN, Chelsea are monitoring the progress of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s contract status with the hope of making an offer during the upcoming summer transfer window.

The belief is that Arsenal are hoping Aubameyang will commit to the club when talks begin at the end of the season, but of course, there’s still a lot of uncertainty as to when those talks would actually take place.

The Blues are also eager to take a look at Timo Werner and Moussa Dembele as alternate options, but they understand that Auba would be a cheaper – and less risky – option for them in the long run.

While we did see Olivier Giroud make a similar move a few years ago, it’s hard to imagine a scenario in which Aubameyang would want to go through with a move to the Gunners’ city rivals. Then again, stranger things have happened in the Premier League.
