The Mirror understands that Chelsea have joined the race to sign Toby Alderweireld from Tottenham Hotspur.
The Belgium international is currently in a contract stand-off with the North London club, with his current deal having a £25m release clause included in it.
Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint Germain are also looking to secure a deal for the former Ajax man who followed manager Mauricio Pochettino to Spurs in 2015, having spent a season with him on loan at Southampton.
In total the twenty-nine year old defender has made one hundred and eleven appearances in all competitions for Tottenham, scoring six goals while he was named the club’s Player of the Year in 2016.
Internationally, he has been capped sixty-eight times for his country, scoring three goals and was part of the squads that attended the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil, and the European Championships in France two years later.
