AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has appeared on Chelsea’s radar, according to Italian publication Corriere dello Sport.
Along with Manchester United’s David de Gea, Thibaut Courtois has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid.
Standing 6’5” tall and boasting excellent reflexes, Donnarumma is deemed a good option to replace the Belgian at Stamford bridge, should his move to Madrid come to fruition. The London Blues would, in that case, be prepared to give the 19-year-old the time he needs to mature and turn his potential into class.
Last summer, Donnarumma initially refused a new contract and angled for a move away from the seven-time European champions, but eventually settled down and signed a new deal that should keep him at the club until 2021. Should Chelsea come for him, the transfer fee would, therefore, be considerable.
AC Milan have already been reported to have aligned a replacement in Napoli’s Pepe Reina, who, according to Corriere dello Sport, has already undergone a medical with the Rossoneri.
