Chelsea move for Messi

Chelsea have made a world record approach to sign Barcelona megastar Lionel Messi, according to the Metro.

The Blues have been linked with a move for the four time European Footballer of the Year in the pass, and reignited their interest a few weeks ago without any response from the Catalan club.

Messi is said to be unhappy with life at Barcelona, and while a move away is unlikely, his interest in the English top flight is apparent with the twenty-seven year old having previously spoken with former teammate Cesc Fabregas about a move to Arsenal.

Messi has scored three goals so far this season to help Luis Enrique’s side to the top of La Liga, and to take his all-time goal tally for the club to three hundred and fifty-seven in four hundred and thirty-one appearances.

Chelsea host Aston Villa tomorrow afternoon, and can be backed at 2/9 for the win.
