Chelsea moves for Croatian starlet

After Deco and Ronaldinho follows Ivan Rakitic. According to Goal.com, the Croat midfielder has attracted the interest of Chelsea and he could move to London for a fee of about £12 million. No sources have been cited yet regarding the possible transfer of Rakitic, but it is thought that Chelsea is just one of the clubs interested in the midfielder.

Rakitic currently plays his trade for Schalke in Germany and he has impressed this past season with his skill and vision. He has also given a good account of himself in the two matches he featured in at Euro 2008.

The 20 year old, Swiss born midfielder has made 29 league appearances for Schalke since joining from Basel last year, scoring three goals and providing 10 assists in the process. He was also instrumental in helping his team qualify for the Champions League next year.
