Chelsea haven’t given up on trying to sign Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham in the summer, despite a number of significant obstacles on that road, according to The Telegraph.
The London Blues are not at the front of the race at all, with Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester City all well ahead. Quite apart from that, they spent over £600million in the last two transfer windows on a number of high-profile signings, breaking the Premier League record in the process by paying around £107m for Enzo Fernandez. That, along with Dortmund’s reported demand of €150m (around £132m) for Bellingham, might pose a real problem in terms of FFP regulations.
Nonetheless, Chelsea aren’t prepared to give up just yet, as they work on opening lines of communication towards the advisors of the 19-year-old England international. They are determined to sign another high-quality midfielder in the summer, and if they fail to land Bellingham, they’re expected to reignite their interest in West Ham’s Declan Rice or Brighton’s Moises Caicedo.
