Premier League giants Chelsea are readying fresh assault on Benfica defender Victor Lindelof, according to A Bola.
The Swedish centre-back has caught the eye of quite a few clubs with his performances for club and country, as Real Madrid, AS Roma and Borussia M’gladbach are all believed to be keen.
Premier League outfit Chelsea are also in the mix and they are set to rekindle their interest in the 22-year-old.
Despite the fact that the Sweden international has made it clear he is not looking to leave Estadio da Luz, the Blues are set to test Benfica’s resolve with an official proposal.
With John Terry and Branislav Ivanovic not getting any younger, Chelsea officials hope to rejuvenate their back line and they have identified Lindelof as one of their top targets.
The highly rated footballer made just 16 league outings for the Eagles, but that could prove enough to secure a big club move.
