According to a recent report from Bild, Chelsea’s proposed signing of Timo Werner is in the final formalities stage and is set to be confirmed sooner rather than later. The deal, which is said to be worth around £53 million, would serve as a huge statement of Chelsea’s intent as we look ahead to the rest of the summer transfer window.
Frank Lampard is making his intentions clear, with the Blues going in search of a push for the title next season. For the time being they’ll have to try and focus on getting back into the UEFA Champions League, but the whole point of bringing Lampard in was for him to build the team in his own vision.
It’s going to take some time for him to be able to do that, and signing Werner is one hell of a first step in the right direction.
Werner has been a revelation for RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga this season, and many fans are excited to see what he can produce in the Premier League.
