Chelsea plan £25m bid for Schweinsteiger

Chelsea are reportedly lining up a £25million bid for Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger.

The 25-year-old was a key player for Bayern last season and won the domestic league and cup double with the club.

Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti is keen to bring in Schweinsteiger as a replacement for 33-year-old veteran Michael Ballack, who is expected to leave Stamford Bridge on a free transfer this summer when his contract expires.

Schweinsteiger said: “Right now I’m focusing solely on the World Cup. All the rest doesn’t interest me.”

Reports claim Schweinsteiger would be tempted by a move to Chelsea this summer.
