The talks between Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain over the possibility of Presnel Kimpembe leaving Parc des Princes for Stamford Bridge this summer are still ongoing, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Chelsea have lost the services of Antonio Rudiger to Real Madrid and Andreas Christensen to Barcelona, not earning a penny from either transfer as their contracts expired. Further more, Barcelona are believed to be very interested in signing Cesar Azpilicueta too, which makes Chelsea’s need for defensive reinforcements clear. They’ve completed the signing of Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli, but they obviously need more.
Romano says that the London Blues are currently offering a sum of €45-50m for Kimpembe, but while PSG are willing to allow the 26-year-old to leave for a right amount, they believe it falls in the bracket of €60-65m. There is obviously a significant gap to work through, but Chelsea aren’t giving up and are working hard to make the transfer happen.
