Premier League high flyers Chelsea are reportedly set to launch an assault on West Ham United defender Angelo Ogbonna, Sky Sport Italia can reveal.
The Blues are set to complete the signing of Spanish full-back Marcos Alonso from Fiorentina, but manager Antonio Conte plans to recruit another central defender on transfer deadline day.
Sky Sport Italia claims that the former Italy boss has set his sights on West Ham’s Angelo Ogbonna, the player he knows well having worked with him while at Juventus.
Chelsea are also keen on David Luiz, but the Italian centre-back appears to be the primary target at the moment.
Angelo Ogbonna joined West Ham from Juventus last summer and he went on to make 29 Premier League appearances for the Hammers.
However, having failed to impress in the process, there is a chance the Hammers will consider any serious offer for his services, although they may have to then sign him a replacement.
