Premier League club Chelsea have stated that they will not comment further on speculation regarding confidential contracts, as more and more evidence comes to light regarding possible illegal payments that were made to Andreas Christensen’s father when he moved to Stamford Bridge.
Politiken published details about the defender’s move, with Sten Christensen joining the Blues as a talent scout on the very same day that Andreas signed. His father then supposedly received payments of £11,400 every month for four years which totalled up to £600,000, which of course, would serve as a pretty big red flag.
Under the guidance of Maurizio Sarri, Chelsea are unbeaten in the Premier League this season as they go in search of the title once again. Alas, if this story continues to pick up some steam, there could be some repercussions down the line. While they may not be particularly severe, it would still be a bad look for such a high profile club.
