Andreas Christensen has revealed that Chelsea are refusing to sell him despite his wish to leave.
Chelsea have been slapped with a two-window transfer ban due to breaking regulations relating to signing underaged players, pending a hearing apparently set for April 11. Sky Sports claim they have confirmation from FIFA on that. With the possibility of the transfer ban being upheld and enforced looming over their heads, the London Blues are reluctant to part ways with any member of the squad if they can help it.
Sky Sports also claim that Christensen, who hasn’t been playing as much as he would’ve liked, spoke to Danish outlet Ekstra Bladet and revealed his frustration.
“The situation I have ended up in has been very difficult to accept”, he said.
The 22-year-old defender says it’s been hard for him to show commitment in training as the amount of training itself has been reduced due to the frequency of matches played. He has made only three appearances in the Premier League this season on one hand, but on the other, he played 10 games in Chelsea’s Europa League campaign.
