Chelsea reject Manchester United’s bid for Mason Mount

Chelsea have turned down an opening bid from Manchester United for Mason Mount, according to 90min. The report has claimed that United have made an offer of £40 million for Mount, but Premier League rivals Chelsea have rejected it.

Mount is out of contract at Chelsea at the end of next season and is refusing to extend his current deal. While the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners are willing to cash in on the England international midfielder, they want as much as £70 million in transfer fees for him.

90min have added that United will make a new bid worth £50 million and are reluctant to go any higher. The Red Devils reportedly believe that Chelsea will eventually lower their demands for the 24-year-old, who made 20 starts and four substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Blues last season, scoring three goals and providing two assists in the process.
