Chelsea have qualified for the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night, but that was not the only thing they were doing. Their scouts were in Lyon, according to the Daily Mail, scouting possible signings for the January transfer window.
According to Mail’s report, Chelsea were monitoring Leipzig’s Timo Werner and Lyon’s Moussa Dembele. Apparently, Frank Lampard is eager to bolster his attacking options in early 2020 and the good thing for him is that the club have been allowed to sign players after Court of Sports Arbistration made an announcement confirming that.
Werner and Dembele came up against each other in Lyon’s 2-2 draw with Leipzig in France on Tuesday night, with Chelsea officials present to watch the two centre-forwards. Chelsea have been doing great with Tammy Abraham in attack so far, but these two players could offer him competition. However, it remains unknown how realistic these targets actually are.
