Premier League heavyweights Chelsea are looking to boost their squad during the summer transfer window and move past the last season’s disappointment which left them without a Champions League football.
In their first summer swoop, the Blues are said to be preparing a deal for Juventus defender Daniele Rugani.
The 24-year-old remains a primary transfer target for Chelsea despite the managerial uncertainty. Rugani has worked with both Antonio Conte and Maurizio Sarri who is being touted as the next Blues boss.
Maurizio Sarri is a top choice to replace Conte at the Stamford Bridge and could opt to move for once his Napoli target.
The Italian media claim a meeting between Rugani and Juventus chiefs took place in Milan this week where the player’s future has been discussed. The Old Lady are keen to hold on to the highly rated defender whose future is expected to be sorted in the coming days.
