Chelsea set sights on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Having missed out of a move for Belgium international striker Romelu Lukaku who ended up becoming a Manchester United player, Premier League champions Chelsea are turning their heads towards Borussia Dortmund.

Antonio Conte is refusing to back down in race to sign a high-profile striker and is said to be exploring a possibility to bring Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Stamford Bridge.

Spanish media outlet Marca suggest Blues are set to open negotiations with Bundesliga heavyweights over a possible summer move.

Aubameyang would be available for €70 million and is believed to be more affordable that Chelsea’s other forward target Alvaro Morata. Conte is looking beyond the Spaniard who was holding out for a move to Manchester United and is said to be disappointed by the fact Red Devils opted to go for Lukaku instead.

Morata is reportedly considering an option to stay at Santiago Bernabeu after all which forced Antonio Conte to move in different direction.

Aubameyang had a highly prolific season behind him having scored 31 goals in as many Bundesliga appearances for Dortmund last season.
