Chelsea set to make Cresswell move

Chelsea have been given the green light to sign West Ham United full-back Aaron Cresswell, according to the Metro.

The Blues have been keeping a close eye on the defender, who has also been linked with a move to Manchester City in recent weeks, though the London club are ready to steal a march on the champions with a bid of around £20m.

Should a deal for the former Ipswich Town man materialise, it would pave the way for Felipe Luis to return to Atletico Madrid, with the Brazil international failing to make a real impact since arriving at Stamford Bridge last summer.

Cresswell swapped Portman Road for Upton Park back in July, and has since racked up thirty-eight appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring two goals.

Chelsea beat Manchester United by a goal to nil on Saturday afternoon to move ten points clear at the top of the Premier League.
