Radio Monte Carlo is reporting that Premier League champions Chelsea are wrapping up the deal for Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater.
The lengthy negotiations between the two clubs appear to have been produced results as the Blues are closing in on a €30 million deal.
Chelsea are desperately short of quality options in the middle of the park after cashing in on Nemanja Matic and they believe Danny Drinkwater will add a new dimension to their midfield.
The 27-year-old had a key role to play in Leicester’s title winning season two years back, but he has yet to feature this term after picking up a thigh strain.
The Manchester United graduate spent last five and a half years with the Foxes, making a total of 195 league appearances for the club.
