A few days ago we reported that Premier League giants Chelsea were set to jump ahead of their rivals to sign AS Monaco winger Thomas Lemar, but this weekend the details of a potential swap deal have been revealed by the Mirror.
The Blues are apparently ready to offer not only a cash sum but also sporadic first team striker Michy Batshuayi in exchange for the French international. Lemar was on of Monaco’s standout players during their title-winning 2016/17 campaign, registering nine goals and 10 assists in Ligue 1.
Chelsea meanwhile find themselves in the midst of a close-run battle for the top four this season, with Manchester City having already all but run away with the league title. Antonio Conte’s side sit third in the table, three points behind second place Manchester United.
Their willingness to offload Batshuayi, who has scored twice in seven brief appearances for the Blues this season, suggests that they are incredibly keep to land Lemar.
