Chelsea were stunned when reports from Milan claimed that Frank Lampard would quit the club after the Champions League final against Manchester United, agreeing to 4-year contract worth an approximately £5.8 million a year.
According to The Times, Chelsea’s preprations for the final came to a halt when the news broke, and Chelsea’s chief executive, Peter Kenyon, had to speak with the owner, Roman Abramovich, to ensure that no deal had taken place without his knowledge.
The timing couldn’t be worse, as Chelsea prepare for the biggest match in the club’s history just 48 hours away.
Chelsea have launched an investigation to get to the bottom of this disruptive rumour that was very credible to many people within Chelsea’s organization.
