Chelsea have completed the signing of former AC Milan goalkeeper Marco Amelia, according to the Mirror.
Blues manager Jose Mourinho has drafted in the Italy international as he looks to provide competition for current number two Asmir Begovic.
The former Stoke City shot-stopper has played eight times in the absence of Thibaut Courtois, who is set to be out until December with a knee injury.
Amelia has spent his entire career in his native Italy until now, racking up over three hundred club appearances across spells with Roma, Livorno, Lecce, Parma, Palermo, Genoa, Milan and Perugia.
He has been capped nine times for his country and was part of Italy’s 2006 World Cup winning squad though he didn’t play.
Chelsea currently sit in sixteenth place in the Premier League, ten points behind leaders Manchester City.
The face fellow strugglers Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge a week on Saturday, and can be backed at 1/3 to win.
