Chelsea to sign Filipe Luis

Premier League giants Chelsea are set to complete the signing of Brazilian full-back Filipe Luis from Atletico Madrid, reports A Bola.

The Blues have already signed Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona, while Atletico’s Diego Costa is set to follow.

And it appears that the Spain internationals will be joined by another La Liga star as Chelsea are prepared to match Filipe Luis’ €25 million release clause.

It is no secret the Blues are on the lookout for a new left-back and it looks as though Jose Mourinho has made the Atletico star his number one target.

Filipe Luis developed into an important player at Vicente Calderon shortly after arriving from Deportivo La Coruna and he has so far made 127 La Liga appearances for los Colchoneros.

The 28-year-old played a key role as Atletico won the La Liga trophy and reached the Champions League final, but was surprisingly left out of Brazil World Cup squad.
