Chelsea have completed the signing of Nigerian youngster Kenneth Omeruo, according to the player.
The defender played a part for his nation in the 2009 Under-17 World Cup and the Under-20 World Cup a year later.
It was understood that Omeruo would be loaned out to Vitesse following the signing, but that move is believed to be off.
The talented starlet is now expected to join ADO Den Haag on loan.
“He will be with the youthful Den Haag team for possibly a year or so to gain playing time and hopefully return to England to fight for a shirt in (the) Chelsea main team,” Omeruo’s agent Obinna Emelogu told MTNFootball.com.
“It’s a big challenge as a lot is expected of the player.”
“I believe in him and I believe after a season with Den Haag, he will be ready for Chelsea.”
For his part, the 18-year-old intends to make the most of his temporary move to ADO Den Haag and return to play for the Blues.
“It’s a very huge step in my career and I will grab it with both hands,” Omeruo said.
“I will continue to work hard until I fulfil my dream to play for a massive club like Chelsea.”
