(GSM) – A transfer from Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole to Real Madrid has become unlikely now the Blues have slapped a £30 million price-tag on the English international.
Cole has had a torrid time in England after splitting with wife Cheryl and he has been linked with a move away Stamford Bridge with Real Madrid as the most likely destination.
However, the Independent reports Chelsea will do anything to keep the 29-year-old, unless the player himself makes it clear he wants to leave.
Real’s new manager, José Mourinho, was the man who brought Cole to Chelsea in controversial circumstances four years ago. A reunion between the Portuguese manager and the England defender whom he described as “the best left-back in the world” now seems far away.
