Chelsea star threatens to quit

Chelsea midfielder Yuri Zhirkov revealed he would leave Stamford Bridge if he failed to ensure regular football by the end of the season.

The Russian has only recently returned from a lengthy spell on the sidelines, but he is eager to play first team football at Stamford Bridge.

“My only target at the moment is to get back into the main Chelsea team.

“If I’m successful with that, all the other issues will resolve themselves.

“But if I fail to achieve that between now and the summer, I will start thinking of other possibilities.”

Despite arriving as Carlo Ancelotti’s first major signing, the Russian has never managed to get a continuous run in the side and everything suggests he will leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
