Chelsea step up Chilwell talks

According to a recent report from Daily Express, Chelsea have stepped up their pursuit of Leicester City star Ben Chilwell by entering into discussions with the club.

For the last few days it’s seemed as if Leicester have distanced themselves from the idea of selling him, but if the Blues are willing to come in with an offer of around the £80 million that has been reported, that’s the kind of figure that the Foxes would have to entertain.

Whether or not it would go any further than initial discussions remains to be seen, but this has the makings of a deal that is going to drag on for weeks – if not months – on end.

Chilwell himself has remained fairly quiet up to this point but with the Premier League getting back into the full swing of things this weekend, we can’t imagine he’ll be able to avoid the question for much longer.
