Chelsea still hope to hijack Caicedo transfer from Liverpool

Liverpool have reached an agreement with Brighton and Hove Albion over the proposed transfer of Moises Caicedo after the Seagulls accepted the Merseysiders’ offer worth a total of £110 million, a new record in British football. This was the result of a bidding battle between Liverpool and Chelsea for the Ecuadorian midfielder on Thursday evening, with Brighton believed to have set the deadline at midnight.

Liverpool obviously won that fight, but according to The Guardian, Chelsea still haven’t given up and intend to make a new offer, surpassing the accepted one that came from Liverpool. Whether there is still time for them to do so remains to be seen, with Liverpool keen to wrap the business up as soon as possible. It appears that the saga is not over yet and won’t be until Caicedo signs for one of the two pursuing clubs.

Meanwhile, there are contrasting claims as to whether Liverpool and Caicedo have an agreement in place over the personal terms of a contract.
